In the Egyptian Collection of the Museum of Ancient Cultures of the University of Tübingen at Hohentübingen Castle, visitors can marvel at an extraordinary sarcophagus ensemble from Ancient Egypt, which is richly decorated in colour. The double coffin made of sycamore wood was presumably made in the 7th century BC for the lady Taditjaina from Thebes. This brief monograph analyses the significance of the ensemble, translates the inscriptions and explains the details of the numerous depictions found on the sarcophagus.
