Zur gestrigen Eröffnung der kollaborativen Sonderausstellung „Te Pou o Hinematioro – Celebrating Māori Heritage, Culture and Connection“ segnete eine Delegation der Māori-Community Te Aitanga-a-Hauiti die Ausstellung und die darin gezeigten taonga („Schätze“). An der Zeremonie nahmen etwa einhundert geladene Gäste aus Tübingen, Deutschland und Aotearoa Neuseeland teil. Auch ein Fernsehteam hat die Segnung begleitet. Neben Redebeiträgen der Delegation sowie von Universitätsvertreter*innen wurde sowohl von den Māori als auch von den deutschen Gästen gesungen. Der kulturelle Austausch mündete in einen Stehempfang in den Ausstellungsräumlichkeiten.

At yesterday's opening of the collaborative special exhibition ‘Te Pou o Hinematioro – Celebrating Māori Heritage, Culture and Connection’, a delegation from the Māori community Te Aitanga-a-Hauiti blessed the exhibition and the taonga (‘treasures’) on display. Around one hundred invited guests from Tübingen, Germany and Aotearoa New Zealand attended the ceremony. A SWR TV crew covered the event (report in German). In addition to speeches by the delegation and university representatives, both Māori and German guests sang songs. The cultural exchange culminated in a standing reception in the exhibition rooms.
