Mit einem vollen Programm wurde am 23. Oktober die ko-kuratierte Ausstellung mit Gästen und Freunden der Universität Tübingen und der Te-Aitanga-a-Hauiti aus Aotearoa Neuseeland eröffnet.
Bereits am Vormittag fand die Segnung der in der Ausstellung gezeigten taonga (Schätze) im abstrakt errichteten Versammlungshaus statt. Abends folgte die feierliche Eröffnung in der Schlosskirche von Schloss Hohentübingen. Die außergewöhnliche Kooperation und der wertvolle Austausch in diesem Projekt wurde in den Reden von Universitätsrektorin Professorin Karla Pollmann, Museumsdirektor Professor Ernst Seidl, Kaikōrero Victor Walker JP – der ebenso zur Bedeutung des Pous und seiner geforderten Rückgabe sprach –, des neuseeländischen Botschafters Craig John Hawke und Professorin Gabriele Alex besonders gewürdigt. Die Delegation der Te Aitanga-a-Hauiti führte in der Schlosskirche sowie nachfolgend vor Hinematioros Pou im Ausstellungsaufbau Tänze und Gesänge auf.
Der anschließende Empfang im Rittersaal war geprägt vom weiteren kulturellen Austausch. Die Ausstellung ist bis 29. März 2026 im MUT | Museum Alte Kulturen zu sehen und wird von regelmäßigen Führungen sowie einer Vortragsreihe begleitet.

The co-curated exhibition opened on October 23rd with a full programme of events attended by guests and friends of the University of Tübingen and Te Aitanga-a-Hauiti from Aotearoa New Zealand.
In the morning, the taonga (treasures) on display in the exhibition were blessed in the abstractly constructed meeting house. In the evening, the formal opening took place in the castle church of Hohentübingen Castle. The extraordinary cooperation and valuable exchange in this project was particularly honoured in the speeches by university president Professor Karla Pollmann, museum director Professor Ernst Seidl, kaikōrero Victor Walker JP – who also spoke about the significance of the pou and its requested return – New Zealand ambassador Craig John Hawke and Professor Gabriele Alex. The Te Aitanga-a-Hauiti delegation performed dances and songs in the castle church and subsequently in front of Hinematioro's pou in the exhibition setting.
The reception that followed in the Knights' Hall was marked by further cultural exchange. The exhibition can be seen at the MUT | Museum of Ancient Cultures until 29 March 2026 and is accompanied by regular guided tours and a series of lectures.
