The University of Tübingen houses the largest number of scientific collections at a German university. In its circa 80 specialized collections, it preserves more than 130 sub-collections as well as unique treasures from various disciplines: From the cast collection to the zoological collection, from astrophysics to dentistry. The University of Tübingen is also the only university in the world with a share of two different entries in the UNESCO World Heritage List (40,000-year-old Ice Age art and wetland settlements/pile dwellings in the Alpine region) and an entry in the Guinness Book of Records (oldest giant wine barrel).
