Collection Women's Clinic

The collection of the University Women's Clinic dates back to the time of Johann Heinrich Ferdinand Autenrieth (1772–1835). He is considered to be the founder of the University Hospital and was an important initiator of women's and obstetrics medicine in Württemberg in the nineteenth century.

The collection contains various wet preparations, diverse models and instruments, the majority of which date from the twentieth century. Among the special pieces is a wooden birthing chair with embossed leather upholstery from the beginning of the nineteenth century, which is on permanent loan to the Haus der Geschichte Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart.
