Photo Collection of the Institute of Art History

Since the 1920s, the largest part of the photo collection has been the archive of the Tübingen art historian and professor Georg Weise (1888–1978). In terms of content, it is particularly associated with his research interests in Spanish and French medieval architecture and sculpture, but also includes photographs on the regional art history of Swabia.

In addition, the collection contains old photographs after hand drawings and paintings of old masters from the former possession of the Königliches Kupferstichkabinett Stuttgart and from individual private foundations.
