The Museum of the University of Tübingen MUT was founded as a central facility of the University of Tübingen in 2006. It functions as a roof institution for the approximately 70 university collections. Some of the tasks of the MUT are to organize the scientific collections in a responsible way, to preserve them for future generations and to make them usable for the research, teaching, public education and profiling of the university. The central nuclear facility of the scientific communication is warranted through numerous regional and superregional cooperations, through exhibitions, public events, own research as well as publications, but also through teaching formats, such as the Master profile “Museum & Collections”.
