Glass Slide Collection of the Institute of Art History

The historical glass slide collection is affiliated with the Image Department of the Art Historical Institute of the University. The glass slides are kept in a separate room in the building of the Art Historical Institute. The object stock is accessible on demand by appointment. In 2012, a digitization project for large-format slides was launched. By the end of 2014, 1300 large-format slides had already been made available in a database. The online image database of the Tübingen Institute of Art History, into which the digitized glass slides – relating to the field of architecture – have been placed, is not open to the public. Access is only possible for students of art history and for teachers of the Institute of Art History.
