Collection Halbritter

In 2009, the MUT acquired clay models and casting molds from the estate of Gerhard Richard Halbritter (1908–2002), a sculptor, draftsman, and graphic artist from Tübingen who was born in Mühlhausen/Thuringia. These are a selection of designs or models of portrait reliefs (picture) of representatives of the University of Tübingen. The collection also includes original negatives of faculty plaques and university medals by the artist's hand. Halbritter became known primarily for the death masks he made of Ernst Bloch or the members of the Red Army Faction (RAF) Gudrun Ensslin, Andreas Baader and Jan-Carl Raspe.
