EX MACHINA for Kids: Mechanics of Defence – Leonardo da Vinci’s Military Studies
A guided tour begins the discussion on the art of war and the various mechanisms involved. Leonardo designed plans for fortresses, catapults, projectiles and rapid fire guns, amongst others, for the military. The workshop picks up Leonardo’s military designs in the exhibition. The participants have the opportunity to place themselves in the position of the attacker, and to use the catapult developed by Leonardo to attack a self-built castle.
